Community Spotlight: Unsung Heroes of Delray Beach’s July Fourth Celebration
DELRAY BEACH, FL – June 20, 2012 – Each year thousands of people speed into Delray Beach with the expectation of celebrating our Country’s Independence with one of the most highly rated events in all of South Florida. They all come to see the multiple stages filled with entertainment, interactive activities, food, drink and premier fireworks show, all situated at the border of one of the most beautiful beaches on the coast. While the famous affair held each year at the intersection of A1A & Atlantic Avenue in downtown Delray Beach is a massive economic driver for the City, we sometimes overlook the people who make that investment possible.
Many local companies and organizations donate their hard earned capital to make the July 4th Celebration possible in hopes of helping Delray Beach grow and develop. Those who might wonder why our town has grown where others have faded, it is local businesses like Weiner & Thompson, P.A. who support important events each year that make the difference.
It is no surprise that the July 4th Celebration is not the only project for the betterment of our community that Weiner & Thompson, P.A. lends their support to. Since its original founding by Michael S. Weiner, Esq., in 1986, Weiner & Thompson, P.A. remains actively involved, both professionally and financially, in many of the non-profit organizations which support the greater Delray Beach community, from the Board of Directors of the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Chairman’s Club, to the Creative City Collaborative/Arts Garage. A day doesn’t go by where the members of the firm are not engaged in public policy discussions relating to the implementation of market-driven, sustainable economic growth for the City.
Delray Beach has proven without a doubt that the benefits of carefully planned festivals and events can put a city on the map and help it to grow. This year the July 4th festivities will be bigger and better than ever with the addition of Red, White & Blues “On The Ave” set for the evening before the holiday, as well as a number of added activities and entertainers for the big day itself. “Substantial time and resources go into the planning of our July 4th celebration. While the Delray Beach Marketing Cooperative (DBMC) and the City of Delray Beach are constantly creating new ways to save money and still produce new and exciting programming for the event, we could not do it without sponsors like Weiner & Thompson, P.A.,” says Sarah Martin, Executive Director of the DBMC.
